What is International House?
International House is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian organization committed to sharing the love and light of Jesus Christ with refugees and other internationals living in the Fort Wayne area.
At the same time, International House respects the right of each individual to decide his own religious preference and provides services without regard to religious preference.
International House has several programs that serve internationals and refugees. Women’s Club is a favorite for international ladies. Our ESL programs accommodate many students whose work schedules prohibit participation in other community programs. Computer Café is a favorite with the young and old, as adults, teens, and children learn English and computer skills using our computer lab. Other programs meet felt needs and provide skills to help in the complex assimilation process.See Programs

Sewing new possibilites
When a woman arrives from a refugee camp and lands in Fort Wayne, her world is suddenly and radically different. The weather is colder, the people are foreign, and the customs are strange. There is a great deal to adapt to and adjust to as she navigates this new world. Many times as ladies join the sewing program at International House, one of the first obstacles she encounters, outside of the language barrier, is making choices. Simple things that American women take for granted, are milestones for a newly arrived international.
